Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
- Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
- Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.
Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
- Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Other work activities related to Excavating and loading machine and dragline operators
- Moving levers, depressing foot pedals, and turning dials for operating power machinery, such as power shovels, stripping shovels, scraper loaders, or backhoes.
- Setting up or inspecting equipment prior for operation.
- Observing hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that working can be performed to specifications.
- Becoming familiar with digging plans, machine capabilities and limitations, and with efficient and safe digging procedures in a given application.
- Operating machinery to performing activities such as backfilling excavations, vibrating or breaking rock or concrete, or making winter roads.
- Lubricating, adjusting, or repairing machinery and replacing parts, such as gears, bearings, or bucket teeth.
- Moving materials over short distances, such as around a construction site, factory, or warehouse.
- Measuring and verifying levels of rock or gravel, bases, or other excavated material.
- Receiving written or oral instructions regarding material movement or excavation.
