Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controller

Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Other work activities related to Engine and other machine assemblers

  • Inspecting, operating, and testing completed products for verifying functioning, machine capabilities, or conformance to customer specifications.
  • Positioning or aligning components for assembly, manually or using hoists.
  • Setting and verifying parts clearances.
  • Reworking, repairing, or replacing damaged parts or assemblies.
  • Reading and interpreting assembly blueprints or specifications manuals and planning assembly or building operations.
  • Maintaining and lubricating parts or components.
  • Assembling systems of gears by aligning and meshing gears in gearboxes.
  • Verifying conformance of parts with the stocking lists or blueprints, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
  • Fastening or installing piping, fixtures, or wiring and electrical components for forming assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, rivet guns, or welding equipment.
  • Removing rough spots and smoothing surfaces for fitting, trimming, or cleaning parts, using hand tools or power tools.
  • Laying out and drilling, reaming, tapping, or cutting parts for assembly.
