Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Other work activities related to Electronics engineering technologists
- Providing assistance to technical sales staff regarding product characteristics.
- Educating equipment operators on the proper using of equipment.
- Assembling circuitry for electronic systems according to engineering instructions, production specifications, or technical manuals.
- Specifying, coordinating, or conducting quality controlling or quality assurance programs or procedures.
- Preparing or maintaining design, testing, or operational records and documentation.
- Writing software programs for microcontrollers or computers in machine, assembly, or other languages.
- Troubleshooting microprocessors or electronic instruments, equipment, or systems, using electronic testing equipment such as logic analyzers.
- Setting up and operating specialized or standard testing equipment for diagnosing, testing, or analyzing the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
- Selecting electronics equipment, components, or systems to meet functional specifications.
