Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controller

Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Other work activities related to Electrical power line installers and repairers

  • Adhering to safety practices and procedures, such as checking equipment regularly and erecting barriers around working areas.
  • Opening switches or attaching grounding devices for removing electrical hazards from disturbed or fallen lines or for facilitating repairs.
  • Climbing poles or using truck mounted buckets for accessing equipment.
  • Placing insulating or fireproofing materials over conductors and joints.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical distribution and transmission systems, including conduits, cables, wires, and related equipment, such as transformers, circuit breakers, and switches.
  • Identifying defective sectionalizing devices, circuit breakers, fuses, voltage regulators, transformers, switches, relays, or wiring, using wiring diagrams and electrical testing instruments.
  • Driving vehicles equipped with tools and materials to job sites.
  • Coordinating working assignment preparation and completion with other workers.
  • Inspecting and testing power lines and auxiliary equipment for locating and identifying problems, using reading and testing instruments.
