Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Other work activities related to Desktop publishers
- Checking preliminary and final proofs for errors and making necessary corrections.
- Operating desktop publishing software and equipment to design, laying out, and producing camera ready copy.
- Entering text into computer keyboard and selecting the size and style of fonts, column width, and appropriate spacing for printed materials.
- Storing copies of publications on paper, magnetic tape, film or diskette.
- Positioning text and art elements from a variety of databases in a visually appealing way, for designing mock ups or full web pages, using knowledge of font styles and size and layout patterns.
- Entering digitized data into electronic prepress system computer memory, using scanner, camera, keyboard, or mouse.
- Editing graphics and photos, using pixel or bitmap editing, airbrushing, masking, or image retouching.
- Import text and art elements, such as electronic clip art or electronic files from photographs that have been scanned or produced with a digital camera, using computer software.
