Archetype 11 Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:

  • Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.

Analyzer

Archetype 3 Analyzer

Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:

  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Other work activities related to Data warehousing specialists

  • Testing software systems or applications for software enhancements or new products.
  • Reviewing designs, codes, testing plans, or documentation for ensuring quality.
  • Providing or coordinating troubleshooting assistance for data warehouses.
  • Preparing functional or technical documentation for data warehouses.
  • Writing new programs or modifying existing programs to meet customer requirements, using current programming languages and technologies.
  • Verifying the structure, accuracy, or quality of warehouse data.
  • Selecting methods, techniques, or criteria for data warehousing evaluative procedures.
  • Performing system analysis, data analysis or programming, using a variety of computer languages and procedures.
  • Mapping data between source systems, data warehouses, and data marts.
  • Developing and implementing data extraction procedures from other systems, such as administration, billing, or claims.
