  • Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Craft artists

  • Planning and attending craft shows for marketing products.
  • Creating functional or decorative objects by hand, using a variety of methods and materials.
  • Cutting, shaping, fitting, joining, molding, or otherwise processing materials, using hand tools, power tools, or machinery.
  • Selecting materials for using based on strength, color, texture, balance, weight, size, malleability and other characteristics.
  • Applying finishes to objects being crafted.
  • Developing concepts or creative ideas for craft objects.
  • Conferring with customers for assessing customer needs or obtaining feedback.
  • Fabricating patterns or templates for guiding craft production.
  • Creating prototypes or models of objects to be crafted.
  • Sketching or drawing objects to be crafted.
  • Advertising products and working, using media such as internet advertising and brochures.
  • Developing product packaging, display, and pricing strategies.
  • Researching craft trends, venues, and customer buying patterns to inspire designs and marketing strategies.
