Analyzer

Archetype 3 Analyzer

Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:

  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Chemical engineers

  • Troubleshooting problems with chemical manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluating chemical equipment and processes for identifying ways for optimizing performance or for ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Performing tests and monitoring performance of processes throughout stages of production for determining degree of controlling over variables such as temperature, density, specific gravity, and pressure.
  • Monitoring and analyzing data from processes and experiments.
  • Determining most effective arrangement of operations such as mixing, crushing, heating, transferring, distilling, and drying.
  • Preparing estimates of production costs and production progress reports for management.
  • Directing activities of workers who are operating or are engaged in constructing and improving absorption, evaporation, or electromagnetic equipment.
  • Performing laboratory studies of steps in manufacture of new products and testing proposed processes in small scale operation, such as a pilot plants.
