• Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
• Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Innovators will usually have four main goals:

• Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
• Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
• Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
• Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

• Collecting and analyzing data for detecting deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or noncompliance with laws, regulations, and management policies.
• Reporting to management about asset utilization and auditing results, and recommending changes in operations and financial activities.
• Preparing detailed reports on audit findings.
• Reviewing data about material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stocks, surplus, income, and expenditures.
• Inspecting accounting books and accounting systems for efficiency, effectiveness, and using of accepted accounting procedures for recording transactions.
• Examining and evaluating financial and information systems, recommending controls for ensuring system reliability and data integrity.
• Supervising auditing of establishments, and determining scope of investigation required.
• Preparing, analyzing, and verifying annual reports, financial statements, and other records, using accepted accounting and statistical procedures for assessing financial conditions and facilitating financial planning.
