Supervisor

Any supervisor should excel at:
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
- Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.
Other work activities related to Tank car, truck, and ship loaders
- Verifying tank car, barge, or truck loading numbers for ensuring car placement accuracy based on written or verbal instructions.
- Observing the positions of passing cars, loading spouts, and swinging spouts into the adequate positions at the appropriate times.
- Operating ship loading and unloading equipment, conveyors, hoists, and other specialized material handling equipment such as railroad tank car unloading equipment.
- Monitoring product movement to and from storage tanks, coordinating activities with other workers for ensuring constant product flow.
- Recording operating data such as products and quantities pumped, gauge readings, and operating times, manually or using computers.
- Checking conditions and weights of vessels for ensuring cleanliness and compliance with loading procedures.
- Operating industrial trucks, tractors, loaders and other equipment for transporting materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks, and for storing and retrieving materials in warehouses.
