Great artisans are usually capable of:

• Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
• Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
• Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controllers are expected to be good at:

• Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
• Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
• Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
• Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

• Starting machines and moving controls to regulating tension on pressure rolls, to synchronize speed of machine components, and for adjusting temperatures of glues or paraffin.
• Adjusting guide assemblies, forming bars, and folding mechanisms according to specifications, using hand tools.
• Installing attachments to machines for gluing, folding, printing, or cutting.
• Measuring, spacing, and setting sawblades, cutters, and perforators, according to product specifications.
• Observing operation of various machines for detecting and correcting machine malfunctions such as improper forming, inadequate material flows, or wrong pasteboard tension.
• Stamping products with information such as dates, using hand stamps or automatic stamping devices.
• Placing rolls of paper or cardboard on machine loading tracks, and threading paper through gluing, coating, and slitting rollers.
• Filling the adhesive and paraffin reservoirs, and positioning rollers for gluing onto the paperboards.
• Cutting products to specified dimensions, using hand or power cutters.
