Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controller

Archetype 4 Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:

  • Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
  • Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
  • Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

Other work activities related to Textile knitting and weaving machine setters, operators, and tenders

  • Removing defects in cloth by cutting and pulling out filling.
  • Inspecting products for ensuring that specifications are met and for determining if machines need adjustment.
  • Observing woven cloth for detecting weaving defects.
  • Threading yarns, threads, and fabrics through guides, needles, and rollers of machines for weaving, knitting, or other processing.
  • Examining looms for determining causes of loom stoppage, such as warp filling, harness breaks, or mechanical defects.
  • Notifying supervisors or repairing staff of mechanical malfunctions.
  • Setting up, or setting up and operating textile machines for performing textile processing and manufacturing operations such as winding, twisting, knitting, weaving, bonding, or stretching.
  • Starting machines, monitoring operations, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Inspecting machinery for determining whether repairs are needed.
  • Recording information about working completed and machine settings.
  • Conferring with coworkers for obtaining information about orders, processes, or problems.
