Great artisans are usually capable of:
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
- Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
- Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
- Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.
Other work activities related to Manufactured building and mobile home installers
- Sealing the opened sides of modular units to preparing them for shipment, using polyethylene sheets, nails, and hammers.
- Inspecting, examining, and testing the operation of parts or systems for evaluating operating conditions and for determining if repairs are needed.
- Connecting water hoses to inlet pipes of plumbing systems, and testing operation of plumbing fixtures.
- Removing damaged exterior panels, repairing and replacing structural frame members, and sealing leaks, using hand tools.
- Listing parts needed, estimating costs, and planning working procedures, using parts lists, technical manuals, and diagrams.
- Conferring with customers or reading working orders for determining the nature and extent of damage to units.
- Installing, repairing, and replacing units, fixtures, appliances, and other items and systems in mobile and modular homes, prefabricated buildings, or travel trailers, using hand tools or power tools.
- Reset hardware, using chisels, mallets, and screwdrivers.
- Repairing leaks in plumbing or gas lines, using caulking compounds and plastic or copper pipe.
