Archetype 11 Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:

  • Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.

Artisan

Archetype 9 Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Other work activities related to Coin, vending, and amusement machine servicers and repairers

  • Filling machines with products, ingredients, money, and other supplies.
  • Keeping records of merchandise distributed and money collected.
  • Collecting coins and bills from machines, preparing invoices, and settling accounts with concessionaires.
  • Making service calls for maintaining and repairing machines.
  • Inspecting machines and meters for determining causes of malfunctions and fixing minor problems such as jammed bills or stuck products.
  • Testing machines for determining proper functioning.
  • Contacting other repairing personnel or making arrangements for the removal of machines in cases where major repairs are required.
  • Cleaning and oiling machine parts.
  • Recording transaction information on forms or logs, and notifying designated personnel of discrepancies.
  • Adjusting machine pressure gauges and thermostats.
  • Maintaining records of machine maintenance and repairing.
  • Replacing malfunctioning parts, such as worn magnetic heads on automatic teller machine (ATM) card readers.
