Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Artisan

Great artisans are usually capable of:
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
- Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

- Conducting preventative maintenance and repairing, and lubricating machines and equipment.
- Welding, repairing, and fabricating equipment or machinery.
- Fabricating and dismantling parts, equipment, and machines, using a cutting torch or other cutting equipment.
- Troubleshooting equipment, electrical components, hydraulics, or other mechanical systems.
- Aligning machines or equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, lasers, or plumb bobs.
- Replacing defective parts of machine or adjusting clearances and alignment of moving parts.
- Connecting power unit to machines or steam piping to equipment, and testing unit for evaluating its mechanical operation.
- Assembling and installing equipment, using hand tools and power tools.
- Positioning steel beams for supporting bedplates of machines and equipment, using blueprints and schematic drawings, for determining working procedures.
- Signaling crane operator for lowering basic assembly units to bedplate, and aligning unit to centerline.
