Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Other work activities related to Refrigeration mechanics and installers
- Brazing or soldering parts for repairing defective joints and leaks.
- Observing and testing system operation, using gauges and instruments.
- Testing lines, components, and connections for leaks.
- Dismantling malfunctioning systems and testing components, using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment.
- Adjusting or replacing worn or defective mechanisms and parts and reassembling repaired systems.
- Reading blueprints for determining location, size, capacity, and types of components needed for building refrigeration system.
- Supervising and instructing assistants.
- Installing wiring for connecting components to an electric power source.
- Performing mechanical overhauls and refrigerant reclaiming.
- Cutting, bending, threading, and connecting pipe to functional components and water, power, or refrigeration system.
- Adjusting valves according to specifications and loading systems with proper types of refrigerant by pumping the specified gas or fluid into the system.
