Great artisans are usually capable of:
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
- Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
- Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
- Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.
Other work activities related to Fence erectors
- Establishing the location for a fence, and gathering information needed for ensuring that there are no electric cables or water lines in the area.
- Aligning posts, using lines or by sighting, and verifying vertical alignment of posts, using plumb bobs or spirit levels.
- Measuring and laying out fence lines and marking posthole positions, following instructions, drawings, or specifications.
- Digging postholes, using spades, posthole diggers, or power driven augers.
- Setting metal or wooden posts in upright positions in postholes.
- Discussing fencing needs with customers, and estimating and quoting prices.
- Mixing and pouring concrete around bases of posts, or tamp soil into postholes for embedding posts.
- Making rails for fences, by sawing lumber or by cutting metal tubing to required lengths.
- Nailing top and bottom rails to fence posts, or inserting them in slots on posts.
- Stretching wire, wire mesh, or chain link fencing between posts, and attaching fencing to frames.
