Great artisans are usually capable of:

• Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
• Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
• Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controllers are expected to be good at:

• Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
• Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
• Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
• Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

• Installing fixtures, appliances, or equipment designed for reducing water or energy consumption.
• Installing or testing gray water systems, such as recycling, treatment, or irrigation systems.
• Installing pipe systems for supporting alternative energy fueled systems, such as geothermal heating or cooling systems.
• Laying out full scale drawings of pipe systems, supports, or related equipment, according to blueprints.
• Modifying, cleaning, or maintaining pipe systems, units, fittings, or related machines or equipment, using hand or power tools.
• Installing automatic controls to regulating pipe systems.
• Shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids from pipe sections, using valve keys or wrenches.
• Inspecting working sites for obstructions or holes that could cause structural weakness.
• Cutting, threading, or hammering pipes to specifications, using tools such as saws, cutting torches, pipe threaders, or pipe benders.
• Assembling or securing pipes, tubes, fittings, or related equipment, according to specifications, by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, or threading joints.
