Great artisans are usually capable of:

• Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
• Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
• Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Controllers are expected to be good at:

• Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
• Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
• Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
• Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.

• Cutting metal division strips and pressing them into the terrazzo base for joints or changes of color, for forming designs or patterns or for reducing and preventing cracks.
• Blending marble chip mixtures, placing into panels, and pushing a roller over the surface for embedding the chips.
• Measuring designated amounts of ingredients for terrazzo or grout according to standard formulas and specifications, using graduated containers and scales, and loading ingredients into portable mixer.
• Molding expansion joints and edges, using edging tools, jointers, or straightedges.
• Spreading, leveling, or smoothing concrete or terrazzo mixtures for forming bases or finished surfaces, using rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, or floats.
• Grinding curved surfaces or areas inaccessible to surfacing machine, such as stairways or cabinet tops, with portable hand grinder.
• Grinding surfaces with a power grinder or polishing surfaces with polishing or surfacing machines.
• Positioning and securing moisture membrane and wire mesh in preparation for pouring base materials for terrazzo installation.
