Great artisans are usually capable of:

  • Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
  • Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
  • Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Administrator

Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Other work activities related to Stonemasons

  • Laying out wall patterns or foundations, using straight edges, rulers, or staked lines.
  • Shaping, trimming, facing and cutting marble or stone preparatory to setting, using power saws, cutting equipment, and hand tools.
  • Setting vertical and horizontal alignment of structures, using plumb bob, gauge line, and levels.
  • Mixing mortar or grout and pouring or spreading mortar or grout on marble slabs, stone, or foundation.
  • Removing wedges, filling and finishing the joints between stones, using trowel or tuck pointer, and smoothing the mortar for getting an attractive finishing.
  • Setting stone or marble in place, according to layouts or patterns.
  • Cleaning excessive mortar or grout from the surfaces of marble, stone, or monuments, using sponges, brushes, water, or acids.
  • Laying brick for building shells of chimneys and smokestacks or to line or relining industrial furnaces, kilns, boilers and similar installations.
  • Replacing broken or missing masonry units in walls or floors.
  • Smoothing, polishing, and beveling surfaces, using hand tools and power tools.
