Great artisans are usually capable of:
- Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
- Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
- Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
- Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
- Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.
Other work activities related to Motion picture projectionists
- Inserting film into top magazine reels, or threading film through a series of sprockets and guiding rollers, attaching the end to a reel.
- Starting projectors and opening shutters to project images onto screens.
- Monitoring operations for ensuring that standards for sound and image projection quality are met.
- Operating equipment for showing films in a number of theaters simultaneously.
- Splicing different film reels, advertisements, and movie trailers together for forming a feature length presentation on one continuous reel.
- Inspecting movie films for ensuring that they are completed and in good conditions.
- Setting up and adjusting picture projectors and screens for achieving proper size, illumination, and focus of images, and proper volume and tone of sound.
- Inspecting projection equipment prior for operation for ensuring proper working order.
- Performing regular maintenance tasks such as rotating or replacing xenon bulbs, cleaning lenses, lubricating machinery, and keeping electrical contacts cleaning and tight.
