Great artisans are usually capable of:

• Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials.
• Performing precise and skillful manipulation of small objects.
• Being active and proactive in regards to physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.

Mediators should be capable of:

• Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
• Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
• Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
• Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.

• Maintaining a proper sterile field during surgical procedures.
• Preparing patients for surgery, including positioning patients on the operating table and covering them with sterile surgical drapes for preventing exposure.
• Cleaning and restocking operating room, gathering and placing equipment and supplies and arranging instruments according to instructions, such as a preference card.
• Ordering surgical supplies.
• Counting sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operation.
• Handing instruments and supplies to surgeons and surgeons’ assistants, holding retractors and cutting sutures, and performing other tasks as directed by surgeon during operation.
• Scrubbing arms and hands and assisting the surgical team in scrubbing and putting on gloves, masks, and surgical clothing.
• Providing technical assistance to surgeons, surgical nurses, or anesthesiologists.
• Washing and sterilizing equipment, using germicides and sterilizers.
• Preparing, caring for, and disposing of tissue specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
