  • Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.

Innovator

Archetype 5 Innovator

Innovators will usually have four main goals:

  • Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
  • Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

Other work activities related to Speech language pathologists

  • Evaluating hearing or speech and language testing results, barium swallow results, or medical or background information for diagnosing and planning treatment for speech, language, fluency, voice, or swallowing disorders.
  • Writing reports and maintaining proper documentation of information, such as client Medicaid or billing records or caseload activities, including the initial evaluation, treatment, progress, and discharge of clients.
  • Developing individual or group activities or programs in schools for dealing with behavior, speech, language, or swallowing problems.
  • Participating in and writing reports for meetings regarding patients’ progress, such as individualized educational planning (IEP) meetings, in service meetings, or intervention assistance team meetings.
  • Completing administrative responsibilities, such as coordinating paperwork, scheduling case management activities, or writing lesson plans.
  • Educating patients and family members about various topics, such as communication techniques or strategies for coping with or for avoiding personal misunderstandings.
