Controller

Controllers are expected to be good at:
- Using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate manufacturing systems.
- Working with hand operated industrial machines and power tools.
- Adjusting knobs, levers, and physical or touch sensitive buttons in industrial devices.
- Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles or mechanized equipment, such as forklifts, passenger vehicles, aircraft, or watercraft.
Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Other work activities related to Radiation therapists
- Scheduling patients for treatment times.
- Administering prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment according to established practices and standards.
- Positioning patients for treatment with accuracy, according to prescription.
- Entering data into computer and setting controls for operating or adjusting equipment or regulating dosage.
- Following principles of radiation protection for patient, self, and others.
- Maintaining records, reports, or files as required, including such information as radiation dosages, equipment settings, or patients’ reactions.
- Reviewing prescription, diagnosis, patient chart, and identification.
- Checking radiation therapy equipment for ensuring proper operation.
- Observing and reassuring patients during treatment and reporting unusual reactions to physician or turning equipment off if unexpected adverse reactions occur.
- Checking for side effects, such as skin irritation, nausea, or hair loss for assessing patients’ reaction for treatment.
