Any supervisor should excel at:
- Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment.
- Detecting or assessing problems whether real or potential.
- Monitoring and controlling resources and overseeing the spending of money.
Mediator

Mediators should be capable of:
- Providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers, or patients.
- Developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintaining them over time.
- Performing for people or dealing directly with the public. This includes serving customers in restaurants and stores, and receiving clients or guests.
- Handling complaints, settling disputes, and resolving grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
Other work activities related to Anesthesiologist assistants
- Verifying availability of operating room supplies, medications, and gases.
- Providing clinical instruction, supervision or training to staff in areas such as anesthesia practices.
- Collecting samples or specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Participating in seminars, workshops, or other professional activities for keeping abreast of developments in anesthesiology.
- Collecting and documenting patients’ pre anesthetic health histories.
- Providing airway management interventions including tracheal intubation, fiber optics, or ventilary supports.
- Responding to emergency situations by providing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic cardiac life supports (BLS), advanced cardiac life supports (ACLS), or pediatric advanced life supports (PALS).
- Monitoring and documenting patients’ progress during post anesthesia period.
- Pretesting and calibrating anesthesia delivery systems and monitors.
