Innovators will usually have four main goals:

  • Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
  • Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
  • Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
  • Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.

Inspector

Archetype 6 Inspector

Inspectors should be great at:

  • Estimating sizes, distances, and quantities; or determining time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources.
  • Identifying information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
  • Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.

Other work activities related to Graphic designers

  • Maintaining archive of images, photos, or previous working products.
  • Researching new software or design concepts.
  • Creating designs, concepts, and sample layouts, based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
  • Determining size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and selecting style and size of fonts.
  • Using computer software for generating new images.
  • Marking up, pasting, and assembling final layouts to preparing layouts for printer.
  • Drawing and printing charts, graphs, illustrations, and other artwork, using computer.
  • Reviewing final layouts and suggesting improvements as needed.
  • Conferring with clients for discussing and determining layout design.
  • Developing graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Web sites.
  • Inputting information into computer equipment for creating layouts for client or supervisor.
  • Preparing illustrations or rough sketches of material, discussing them with clients or supervisors and making necessary changes.
