Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:

  • Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
  • Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
  • Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
  • Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.

Other work activities related to Judges, magistrate judges, and magistrates

  • Instructing juries on applicable laws, directing juries to deduce the facts from the evidence presented, and hear their verdicts.
  • Sentence defendants in criminal cases, on conviction by jury, according to applicable government statutes.
  • Rule on admissibility of evidence and methods of conducting testimony.
  • Presiding over hearings and listening to allegations made by plaintiffs for determining whether the evidence supports the charges.
  • Reading documents on pleadings and motions for ascertaining facts and issues.
  • Interpreting and enforcing rules of procedure or establishing new rules in situations where there are no procedures already established by law.
  • Monitoring proceedings for ensuring that all applicable rules and procedures are followed.
