Innovators will usually have four main goals:
- Developing or creating new applications, relationships, systems, or products.
- Providing creative ideas or artistic contributions.
- Keeping up-to-date technically and applying new knowledge to your job.
- Benchmarking, experimenting and testing novel approaches to solving problems.
Analyzer

Analyzers will often perform the following tasks:
- Identifying the underlying principles, reasons, or facts of information by breaking down information or data into separate parts.
- Using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
- Assessing the value, importance, or quality of things or people.
- Compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
Other work activities related to Atmospheric and space scientists
- Analyzing climate data sets, using techniques such as geophysical fluid dynamics, data assimilation, or numerical modeling.
- Conducting wind assessment, integration, or validation studies.
- Creating visualizations to illustrate historical or future changes in the Earth’s climate, using paleoclimate or climate geographic information systems (GIS) databases.
- Estimating or predicting the effects of global warming over time for specific geographic regions.
- Consulting with other offices, agencies, professionals, or researchers regarding the using and interpretation of climatological information for weather predictions and warnings.
- Teaching college levels courses on topics such as atmospheric and space science, meteorology, or global climate change.
- Analyzing historical climate information, such as precipitation or temperature records, for predicting future weather or climate trends.
- Preparing weather reports or maps for analysis, distribution, or using in weather broadcasts, using computer graphics.
