Archetype 11 Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:

  • Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
  • Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
  • Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.

Administrator

Archetype 1 Administrator

Any administrator should excel at:

  • Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates, as well as communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources. This information can be exchanged in person, in writing, or by telephone or e-mail.
  • Maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
  • Recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring, and promoting employees in an organization, and getting them to work together to accomplish tasks by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.

Other work activities related to Electro mechanical technicians

  • Testing performance of electromechanical assemblies, using testing instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, or bridges.
  • Reading blueprints, schematics, diagrams, or technical orders for determining methods and sequences of assembly.
  • Installing electrical or electronic parts and hardware in housings or assemblies, using soldering equipment and hand tools.
  • Aligning, fitting, or assembling component parts, using hand or power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
  • Inspecting parts for surface defects.
  • Verifying part dimensions or clearances for ensuring conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Operating metalworking machines for fabricating housings, jigs, fittings, or fixtures.
  • Repairing, reworking, or calibrating hydraulic or pneumatic assemblies or systems to meet operational specifications or tolerances.
  • Training others to installing, using, or maintaining robots.
  • Developing, testing, or programming new robots.
