Technician

Technicians will often be asked these tasks:
- Providing documentation, detailed instructions, drawings, or specifications to tell others about how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are to be fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used.
- Using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to program, write software, set up functions, enter data, or process information.
- Servicing, repairing, calibrating, regulating, fine-tuning, or testing machines, devices, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of electrical or electronic (not mechanical) principles.
Strategist

Most strategists should excel at:
- Establishing long-range objectives and specifying the strategies and actions to achieve them.
- Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
- Developing specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.
- Scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.

Writing proposals for securing external funding or to partner with other companies.
Supervising technologists or technicians engaged in nanotechnology researching or production.
Synthesizing, processing, or characterizing nanomaterials, using advanced tools or techniques.
Identifying new applications for existing nanotechnologies.
Providing technical guidance or assistance to customers on topics such as starting up, maintaining, or using nanosystems.
Generating high resolution images or measuring force distance curves, using techniques such as atomic force microscopy.
Preparing reports, delivering presentations, or participating in the programs reviewing activities for communicating engineering results or recommendations.
Preparing nanotechnology related invention disclosures or patent applications.
Developing processes or identifying equipment needed for pilot or commercial nanoscale scale production.
